BANTU CEO NAMED A FEDERAL 100 WINNER BY FEDERAL COMPUTER WEEK

Larry Schlang Honored for Enabling U.S. Military to Jointly Search and Collaborate in Real Time Between Branches at the Enterprise Level, For the First Time in History

Vienna, VA - March 26, 2007 - Bantu today announced that Federal Computer Week (FCW) has named Larry Schlang to its list of top 100 leaders who had the greatest impact on the government community in 2006. The Federal 100 award recognizes individuals from government, industry and academia who significantly influenced how the federal government buys, uses or manages information technology in the past year.

Larry Schlang was honored by FCW for his response to the U.S. military’s challenge to jointly communicate across service affiliations. In 2006, the U.S. Army, Air Force and Navy deployed Bantu’s DefenseConnect platform, allowing military personnel to instantly locate and communicate across disparate military networks, locations and computing platforms- regardless of service affiliation- for the first time.

Bantu now provides the services with a real-time collaboration network that the 3.5 million military personnel can use to communicate and collaborate. This platform responds to the Government’s challenge to federate and jointly enable the military, DoD and other agencies to protect the U.S. infrastructure, the homeland and its citizens.

"We share this award with our customers, the Army Knowledge Online (AKO), Air Force Portal and Navy Knowledge Online, who undertook the work and the leadership to build DefenseConnect," said Larry Schlang, CEO of Bantu. "We look forward to continuing to support them in their effort to leverage and extend this interoperable collaboration framework within the military and with other agencies."

Federal 100 winners were nominated by Federal Computer Week readers and selected by an independent panel of judges. Larry Schlang, along with the other Federal 100 winners, will be honored at the 18th Annual Federal 100 Awards Gala on March 26, 2007 in McLean, Va.
